The earlier series is “Total Eclipse” (which you can watch here). These two series (listed below) are actually based on spinoff light novels that were released after Muv-Luv Alternative. (However, only Muv-Luv Alternative’s visual novel influenced the Attack on Titan manga, not the other parts of the trilogy.) There are also two spinoff anime series on Crunchyroll, but the makers of the new series have said they (and the visual novels) aren’t required viewing to understand Muv-Luv Alternative.
